Mission objectives
The mission’s primary objective is to validate the X-band communication system’s ability to reliably transmit data in real-time, a critical step toward enabling robust communication for
high-altitude and space applications. The team aims for reaching speeds of up to 40 mbit/s data transfer.
A secondary goal is to explore the potential of thermal imaging for environmental
monitoring, with a focus on wildlife tracking from the stratosphere. The thermal camerawill be tested under the extreme conditions of the upper atmosphere, including low temperatures and pressures, to assess its operational reliability and imaging accuracy. The experimental design emphasizes system robustness, with pre-flight calibrations, in-flight
telemetry monitoring, and post-flight analysis ensuring precise performance evaluation.
The anticipated outcomes include thermal imagery and a detailed assessment of the communication system’s effectiveness, contributing to advancements in both environ-
mental observation and high-bandwidth communication technologies. This mission lays the groundwork for future innovations in remote sensing and data transmission from
high-altitude platforms.
